Hate Crime Awareness Week
As part of last week's National Hate Crime Awareness campaign, Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team officers visited a number of local community venues to raise awareness, engage with residents to explain what hate crime is, highlight its impact on victims and communities, as well as encourage and explain how anyone affected can report it.

Arson appeal
Police are continuing to investigate a fire at a disused building in Eastbourne.
Emergency services were called at about 5.40pm on Sunday, 19 October to the former Moira House school in Upper Carlisle Road.
A fire started in the building, and it is believed to have been started deliberately.
Detective Sergeant Tod Stewart said: “We are continuing to pursue lines of enquiry, and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We are also keen to trace four boys as witnesses, who may have information to help our investigation.”
Information relating to the fire can be reported to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 936 of 19/10.
